looking around at times and watching the world move at such a hurried pace our lives are over in a flash of time against eternity. Its is sad that we all get sucked into the trappings of this world and lose sight of what is important. We spend the majority of our time working to pay bills and become so busy trying to get a better life we actually end up missing the one we are given. Time slips away and then suddenly your middle aged and all the things that you took for granted are now a memory.

A stranger showed up one day and nobody seemed to know exactly where he had come from. He was scrutinized carefully by the regulars but not much could be made of him until one day he began to go about an tell people that he intended to stretch a cable across the Grand Canyon and walk all the way across to the other side. Needless to say, he was met with jeers and hoots and all sorts of cynical remarks of derision. This went on for quite some time until one day, after being ridiculed by pretty much the least to the greatest, one of the guys came skidding into town yelling, “Hey, listen to this! There is a cable stretched all the way across the Grand Canyon and there’s a crowd there!”

Why go to church?

If you’re spiritually alive, you’re going to love this! If you’re spiritually dead, you won’t want to read it. If you’re spiritually curious, there is still hope!

A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday.

‘I’ve gone for 30 years now,’ he wrote, ‘and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons, but for the life of me, I can’t remember a single one of them. So, I think I’m wasting my time and the priests are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all.This started a real controversy in the ‘Letters to the Editor’ column.Much to the delight of the editor, it went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher:’I’ve been married for 30 years now...

Lessons I learned from loving a drug addict

EDITOR’S NOTE:Alicia Cook, 29, lost her cousin to a drug overdose when they were both teenagers. She regularly writes columns detailing the gut-wrenching journey in hopes that her story can save at least one life. Today, she writes about what it’s like to love someone who’s addicted to drugs.

I am not an addict.
But try and love one, and then see if you can look me square in the eyes and tell me that you didn’t get addicted to trying to fix them.
If you’re lucky, they recover. If you’re really lucky, you recover, too.
Loving a drug addict can and will consume your every thought...

So you say you have faith?
What kind of faith do you actually have and how did you get it?
Did you go to a church service that got you emotionally high?
Did a life changing experience drive you back to the religion of your youth?
Did you have an epiphany and decide to change the way you think,
Did a cult knock on your door and pursuade you to change your belief?
Do you beleive that just beleiving in God is good enough?
There is only one Faith and one way to actually obtain it.
It is not emotional or willed, it is given to you through this one simple precept by the entity that created it.
Romans 10
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
If you get your faith through any other experience, practice or belief it is simply yours and not Gods...
